Jefferson City Clean-up '09

Missouri's capitol is perched on a bluff above the Big Muddy. As our way of celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Missouri Stream Team program, we invited folks to help us clean up this historical stretch of river. Our second year in the first city of the channelized river. Over 180 volunteers and a whole bunch of great local partners made this a smooth success!

Rocheport Bend Day of Caring
Rocheport, MO, and Overton Bottoms North Unit of Big Muddy National Fish & Wildlife Refuge
Over 130 volunteers worked on both sides of the Missouri River on Rocheport Bend, cleaning up trash, planting trees and removing invasive garlic mustard. Our river clean-up volunteers removed over 5 tons of trash from the floodplain and along the Katy Trail!

Mari Osa Dump: Part 2
Between Jefferson City and Loose Creek, MO.
162 really hardcore volunteers showed up to continue working on the massive Mari-Osa dumpsite, as well as five other smaller dumps and tire piles. We removed 13.1 tons of junk from this beautiful stretch of the Osage River, including 212 tires!
