Missouri River Relief

We returned to the confluence of the Kaw and Missouri Rivers for our biggest tradition of the year!

A week of clean-ups, education and networking throughout the Manitou Bluffs region of mid-Missouri. Capped off with a clean-up in the Missouri capital, Jefferson City, on Sat. Sept. 19.

Missouri's capitol is perched on a bluff above the Big Muddy. As our way of celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Missouri Stream Team program, we invited folks to help us clean up this historical stretch of river.  This was the final event of our week of activities called River Camp. Our second year in the first city of the channelized river. Over 180 volunteers and a whole bunch of great local partners made this a smooth success!

Over 130 volunteers worked on both sides of the Missouri River on Rocheport Bend, cleaning up trash, planting trees and removing invasive garlic mustard. Our river clean-up volunteers removed over 5 tons of trash from the floodplain and along the Katy Trail!
