Mari-Osa Clean-up 2010
Mari-Osa Boat Ramp between Loose Creek and Jeff. City, MO
In the past two years, volunteers have removed over 30 tons of junk from this beautiful bluff along the Osage River.
Since many of the smaller dumps in the area were cleaned up last year, we'll be focusing more exclusively on the big dump on the bluff.
For safety sake, we are limiting our outreach for this year's clean-up. Only so many folks can be working on this site safely all at once.

Clean-up time
- Shift one: 9:00 a.m. - noon
- Shift two: 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. (come at noon for lunch)
- In case of snow or ice, the clean-up will be rescheduled for March 14. Watch here for updates.

What we're doing
- Taking a boat to clean up one of several area dumpsites along the Osage River.
What you get
- Volunteers will receive a t-shirt, gloves, water and lunch.
What to bring
- Weather and work appropriate clothes. Long pants (tough Carhardts would be preferred), knee pads if you have them. Sturdy boots with tough soles. Reusable water container. Come ready to use some muscle power and make a dent in this massive pile.
How to sign up
Directions to Mari-Osa River Access
- From I-70 at Columbia, head south on Hwy. 63. Just after you cross the Missouri River, follow signs to US 63 South/US 50 East (exit to the right). Before you cross the Osage River, turn left at the sign for Mari-Osa Boat Access. Take an immediate right on Marina Dr. and follow the signs to the right under the bridge.
- From Jefferson City, take US 63 South/US 50 East out of town. Before you cross the Osage River, turn left at the sign for Mari-Osa Boat Access. Take an immediate right on Marina Dr. and follow the signs to the right under the bridge.
- From the South, take US 63 North. Merge onto US 63 North/US 50 West. Immediately after crossing the Osage River, take the first right. Take an immediate right on Marina Dr. and follow the signs to the right under the bridge.
